1.0 Introduction

Mayor Doug Struthers welcomed us to Merrickville and mentioned that our Mutual Aid system works well.

2.0 Guest Speaker

Chris Wiona, a full time fire fighter in Ottawa does Rapid Intervention Team trainning. We should train well for this, basic training is important. They use ropes anchored to the outside for interior personnel. A basement with an open ceiling and I beam construction can fail in only 10 minutes in a fire. New couches can raise heat in a room 5 times more than items made 10 years ago. Newer construction is a very serious problem because of construction materials.
