VP Wayne Shields called the meeting to order at 19:40 hours. 8 departments
were represented, with 37 current members in attendance. We observed
a moment of silence for RCMP Officer Doug Scott who was killed in
the line of duty.

David Carmichael gave a presentation on Harvestore Silos. Talked
about construction and features of the sealed silos. Explained the
proper procedure to extinguish a silo fire in the sealed units.
The key is to keep the silo sealed. Don't use water or foam and
stay off the silo.
3.0 Adoption of Minutes
The minutes of the Sept. 11, 2007 meeting were read and approved
with a correction on the name of First Nations Fire Department,
and an addition that 5 members of Kemptville Fire Department attended
the 9/11 services in New York City.

Approximately 100 firefighters attended the RCMP funeral today in
Brockville. There was not a county page due to the family's wishes.
