President James Grant called the meeting to order at 19:30 hours and welcomed everyone. 10 departments were represented, with 60 active members in attendance.

1.0 Introduction

Chief Bennett introduced the mayor of Gananoque, James Garrah who welcomed us. .

2.0 Guest Speaker

Chief Bennett introduced the guest speaker, Ameen Khan from the OPP. He is a court case manager for Stormont Dundas and Glengarry. He investigated the drowning of 3 people in Ganaoque in August '09. The victims were muslim and he explained that culture.

3.0 Adoption of Minutes

The minutes of the November 17, 2009 meeting were read and approved

6.1 Health & Welfare - C/E James Purcell, Edwardsburg/Cardinal

No activity
Chief Bennett reported that Chief Gord Kemp has been diagnosed with Luekemia. We are to send a card.

6.2 Fire Prevention - Dave Balderson, Gananoque

96 ads were on the radio during Christmas holidays. 64 were paid by FP committee and 32 were paid by Brockville FD. Also had ads in papers
No chairman at this point for committee.
Purchased a digital fire extinquisher tutor. Propane unit has been place in reserve for now
Budget was presented to executive same as last year.

6.3 Training

Chief Tim Bond said the Training budget is the same as last year
Structural Collapse coming up in February. Looking at Trainer/Facilitator and Legislation 101 as well.

6.4 EMS - No report

7.0 Coordinators Report- D/C Chris Dwyre

Essentials of Municipal Fire Protection for Fire Service Leaders course in Kemptville is now full.
It is time for departments to forward any changes in staffing and equipment to update the Mutual Aid plan.
Budget submissions have been received and will be submitted to County.
L&G Chiefs are not satisfied with the latest report on the Hazmat vehicle. They have requested a meeting with County to clarify our position.
Any departments that are hosting an OFM course and have any vacant seats are asked to offer the space to other departments in the area.
Communication committee has been very active presenting an overview to municipal councils. Urge all chiefs to book this presentation with their respective councils.
Request for members of the Chief's , Training and Fire Prevention committees to sit on the Mutual Aid Constitution update committee.
Report given on the 2009 dispatch volume of calls.
Request all departments to support the Fire Prevention and Training Committees and the programs that they schedule.
Chief Bennett gave an update on the Leeds and 1000 Islands Training Center in Lyndhurst


8.0 Fire Protection Advisor Report

Emergency Response Support Plan has been sent out to all Chiefs. It should be available shortly

9.0 OAFC - Tim Bond

Chief Bond is attending a meeting on Labour Relations in Toronto.

10.0 Unfinished Business:

Those who were nominated at the last meeting for the executive all agreed to stand. All were acclaimed to their positions. No change to executive.

Chief Emeritas Purcell announced that James Grant is the new Chief in Edwardsburgh/Cardinal
Front of Yonge is hosting a Winter Carnival on Feb. 20th
Ed Dempster reminded those who want their medals mounted to contact him
Rideau Lakes has been granted a Red Knight motorcycle club charter.
