1st Vice President Wayne Shields called the meeting to order at 19:30 hours, with 10 departments represented and 50 members in attendance. James Purcell acted as secretary.

1.0 Introduction

Chief Lorne Doherty welcomed everyone and thanked the suppliers for coming. He also introduced Reeve Mel Campbell who is also the Warden of Leeds and Grenville. Mel advised that the HazMat truck from Invista has been acquired by the County.

2.0 Guest Speaker

Lt. Ken Sine from Ottawa Fire Department spoke about Canadian Aid for Chernobyl. Anyone who has fire trucks or any equipment to send, another shipment is going out February 15, 2009.
CFPO Randy Burke introduced Deborah Sauder who is the County prosecuter for the fire service. Charges are laid to enforce compliance with the Fire Code. Fines have increased considerably. Encouraged us to preserve the scene and keep detailed notes and good pictures for better evidence. Fire Department should do their investigation before the insurance adjuster. The fire investigator is a person of importance. Chief Harry Jones thanked her for the presentation along with VP Shields.

Looking at 3 courses in 2009, 3 courses were presented in 2008

7.0 Coordinators Report- D/C Dwyre

Asking for departments to provide costs of doing medical assist calls
All departments may have to go to digital equipment for the county system
In 2008 there were 1,640 calls dispatched to Township fire departments and 2,497 including Brockville and Prescott.
Cert. vehicle has been acquired and will be housed in Elizabethtown/Kitley
Chief Jones said a new Fire Advisor may be appointed in the next 6 months.

Chief Bond announced Charlie Bond was appointed as Assistant Deputy Chief in North Grenville Township
Prescott has 6 new members with 5 in attendance tonight. New members are Ryan Gobeil, Ken Rundell, Tim Flagg, Allan Norton, Mike Crozier, Scott Robertson
Chief Emeritas James Purcell introduced Chief Don Middleton as the new chief in Edwardsburgh/Cardinal
Charlie Bond announced meeting of Limerick Forest would be held Jan. 14th
Wayne Shields encouraged people to attend the Fire Prevention meetings.
Ed Dempster to bring in medals at the next meeting to get them mounted
