President James Grant called the meeting to order at 19:30 hours and welcomed everyone. 10 departments were represented, with 50 active members in attendance and 1 honourary.

1.0 Introduction

Chief Halladay welcomed everyone to the meeting and introduced councilor Greg Healy. Greg welcomed everyone to the township on behalf of council. Pam Musgrave was also introduced and she passed out appreciation certificates to the departments. She presented Kees Tiekstra with a special award for years of service. $10 million was raised this year. $2.8 million from firefighters of which $1.8 million from Ontario.

2.0 Guest Speaker

OFM Advisor Tawnya Roberts spoke on the Fire Code relating to fairs and festivals. Showed the example of a Hay Maze at a festival and an entertainment tent. There are many problem areas to be aware of.

Harold Workman handed out thank you letters and pictures from Camp Bucko to the association and individual departments

6.1 Health & Welfare - James Purcell

No activity.

6.2 Fire Prevention - Dave Balderson, Ganaoque

Smoke alarm program has been completed. A CD and booklet has gone out to each department. This is designed so we have a consistent message throughout the county.
Fire Prevention displays went very well and were well received at Wallmart during Fire Prevention week.
Starting Christmas advertising committee for the radio and EMC like last year
Next meeting is Thursday Dec.10 at E/K Station #3. Encouraged all departments to attend the meetings.

" There has been little progress with the Hazmat unit. He is checking with the County
" Wants to form a committee to look at the constitution including committee expenditure levels. He will discuss this at the Chiefs meeting
" Communications committee is very active. Consultant Bill Anderson will present final report to County next week. They will be installing a new console at dispatch for 2010
" Budgets need to be submitted from the individual committees
" Chiefs interested in remote access to the Crysis system are to contact him
" Also a reminder to notify him of Mutual Aid calls

8.0 Fire Protection Advisor Report

" Trying to put more emphasis on in field training
" Requests for training coming from the coordinator has a higher priority
" Basic fire prevention inspection course will be done as a starter course and refresher
